Bristol based artist, Shirley Pegna, shows us her latest exploration into the Earth and sound. A playable record cut from a piece of Gypsum Alabaster formed in Spain 23 million years ago playing the sounds of an earthquake in Indonesia picked up in Bristol, UK in 2018.

Shirley is a musician and sound artist – interested in sound as a material. She has been looking into sound and vibration travelling through solid matter, exploring it as a connecting agent over extreme long distances as well as for more localised sounding events.
